Office 365 is on the up and up

The adoption of cloud based services has revolutionised the way companies do business. Bitglass, the Silicon Valley-based Next-Gen CASB company, analysed the email domains of over 135,000 organizations globally to measure the enterprise use of major cloud productivity platforms. According to the report, the adoption of cloud services has rapidly increased over the year. With 81% of organisations using cloud services in 2018. This is an increase of 37% since 2016, and of 238% since 2014.

The usage of Office 365 among organisations globally has reached over 56% in 2018, up from 34% in 2016. Which gives us an indication of just how important cloud services are to business. When an organisation uses Office 365 to it’s full potential, both savings and efficiency increase.

Two major firms leveraging Office 365; Air France & Centra Health Care

Air France – explains it this way

“ Consistency and accuracy occur naturally in a well-connected workforce. With our cloud-based communication tools taking off in the company, it is easier for Air France employees to provide accurate answers to customers’ questions, and even anticipate their needs. The more knowledge we share across the company, the more unified we are in our approach to service. Therefore, the more reliable we are in the eyes of our customers. Today, Air France is a more interconnected, productive organization because we have the technology to communicate and collaborate effortlessly.”

Air France operates a complex network of flights all over the globe. Distributing information across their geographically dispersed enterprise can be equally complex. Working with intelligent communication applications like Microsoft Teams helps to connect a mobile workforce that is always on the move.

Here’s how Centra explains how Office 365 has shaped their workplace.

Centra has also been able to leverage the abilities of Office 365 but in a way that is unique to them and their business models. Centra is a not for profit healthcare system based in Lynchburg, Virginia which services more than 380,000 people.

“As Centra continues to grow from a network of hospitals to an assortment of health-related enterprises. Adding everything from a college of nursing to our own insurance business. We see a cloud-based workplace solution as key to staying agile and making the most of our momentum. In Microsoft 365, we have found a solution that marries the strict security requirements of our industry with the needs of a workforce that demands anytime, anywhere access to colleagues and information.”

At Excel Consulting, we practice what we preach and use Office 365 and the growing array of apps internally every day.
